Psychotherapy

Ruth Bard Rampel Therapy

People seek help for many different reasons. Often, the coping skills that we learned in our youth no longer seem to be working. Our past experiences affect how we see the world, relate to others, and cope with stress and changing those patterns can seem difficult.

Sometimes people suffer from painful symptoms of stress or unhappiness that get in the way of daily functioning. Others experience a general sense of dissatisfaction with their lives and are looking for a way to clarify who they are, what they want, and how to change old patterns of behavior.

I am committed to providing a safe, non-judgmental, respectful and professional therapeutic atmosphere. I consider myself to be a resource and guide for you along your path of self-discovery, healing, and change. I believe that we all have the capacity for growth and change within ourselves, and consider it a privilege to be witness to people’s personal journeys.

Ruth Bard, Ph.D.

A licensed psychologist specializing in individual therapy, eating disorders, depression and anxiety, and maintains a private practice in Chapel Hill, NC.

With over 25 years experience as a therapist, I have extensive training, and have worked on an adult inpatient unit at a public psychiatric hospital, an adolescent inpatient unit, several public schools and outpatient psychotherapy clinics.

As a solution-focused therapist, my goal is to help you uncover your true potential and lead a more satisfying life. While we can’t change difficult situations of the past, we can work together to better understand and resolve challenges in your life. By applying complementary therapy approaches and techniques, we can unearth long-standing behavior patterns or negative perceptions that may be holding you back from experiencing a more fulfilling and meaningful life.

I believe psychotherapy can be a powerful tool through which to develop new ways of understanding and handling life situations, and to foster resilience in managing challenges. If you’re looking for extra support and guidance through a challenging situation or you’re just ready to move in a new direction in your life, I look forward to working with you to achieve your goals.
